US Cities Need More Public Bathrooms

Homeless people practicing open defecation in municipalities is a public health risk, but unfunded mandates are a burden on communities.

What if every post office had public bathrooms?

It wouldn't even necessarily require additional facilities. They likely all have bathrooms on site for the employees already, so they would just need to maybe tweak things to make their bathrooms accessible to the public.

This might be feasible in some existing buildings by putting a new door in from the lobby and maybe adding locks to the existing door that prevent the public from entering "staff only" areas.

There would be some additional expenses for more toilet paper and additional cleaning/servicing, but it's a potentially lightweight solution that the federal government can cover financially and have control over rather than fighting with or trying to police municipalities.
